EUROPE'S JET FUEL CRISIS IS RESHAPING THIS SUMMER
Jet fuel prices have roughly doubled since the start of the conflict in Iran, forcing European airlines to slash thousands of flights through peak summer. Lufthansa alone announced cuts of 20,000 flights through the fall. Europe imports about a third of its jet fuel, largely from the Middle East — making the continent particularly exposed. NPR
For independent pilots and operators, this creates a split reality: major carriers are contracting, but charter and on-demand operations may see a spike as passengers look for alternatives. Watch this space.
